Yesterday and today I picked up these boxes for some great prices at DA Card World.  I got all of these boxes for less than 20 bucks.  The 2008 SP has one autograph while the 2007 Rookie Edition has two and the basketball is just base.

I can't wait to get these and see what I get.
The deals at DA Card World are going on until tomorrow at 12:30 PM.

I think I'm done buying but would love to help my fellow card collectors get some nice deals.

A Disappointed Giants Fan Spending Money and Second TTM during Absence

Today I decided to post one of my more interesting TTMs during my absence that being the infamous, John Rocker.

Rocker played in 6 MLB seasons four of those being with the Braves and the others being with Indians, Rays and Rangers.  Though Rocker is known more for his off-field actions, he was a solid closer near the beginning of his career.  When asked about playing for my Mets or the dreaded Yankees he said some very racist and inappropriate things that I don't think I should have on my blog. His answer can be found on Wikipedia.

In Rocker's MLB career he had a record of 13-22 with an ERA of 3.42 and 88 saves.  Also, the HBO show Eastbound and Down was loosely based on Rocker according to the creators.  Though Rocker made quite the storm in the MLB I still remain a fan because I love a guy who says what he feels and doesn't give a crap what others think even though what he said was completely inappropriate.  I would like to thank Rocker for signing my card.

Then we get to my trip to the card shop today, the Giants lost again last night to the Eagles and when my Giants lose I get mad and buy card.  Today I did not spend to much money but got some nice cards for my PC.

I bought autographs of Former Mets Joaquin Arias and Anderson Hernandez.  I was looking through the owners cards for sale and found this awesome Willie Green three-color patch numbered to 50.  I paid three bucks for it.  If anyone is interested it is for trade.

I hope I don't have to keep spending my money because if the Giants keep losing I will be on the streets soon.

First TTM during Absence from Blog- The Ageless Wonder

This is my first TTM of the many from when my scanner was not working and I would barely post.  This card is signed by the ageless wonder himself, Jamie Moyer.

Moyer who turned 48 two days ago is still trucking in the majors.  This season, he played for the Phillies but missed the second half of the season due to an elbow strain.  Moyer recently became a free agent but also just suffered another elbow injury in the Dominican Winter Leagues that could possibly end is MLB career.

I personally hope Moyer can recover from his injury and pitch next season, Moyer is probably the last guy for awhile that could possibly hit 300 wins other than Andy Pettitte.

In Moyer's MLB career, he has appeared in one All-Star game and won one World Series ring.  Moyer has played for the Cubs, Rangers, Cardinals, Orioles, Red Sox, Mariners and Phillies in his 24 MLB seasons.  Moyer has a career record of 267-204 with an ERA of 4.24 in 686 MLB games.

I hope to see Moyer recover and have a nice season next year and would like to thank him for taking the time to sign this card.

Long, Overdue Winner of Contest

I apologize for taking so long to announce the winner of the contest.  The winner is Mike aka BA Benny. I believe your favorite team is the Jets and already have your address so I'll get this out as soon as I can along with ten Jets cards.

Also, it has been awhile since I posted daily, I plan to do that now that I have figured out the problem with my scanner.  I have at least 20-30 TTMs from the break when I was not posting and I will have the first of those later today.

Also, anyone interested in trading shoot me an e-mail, I'm always looking to add some cards to my collection and love to help others with there collection.

A Bad Trip to Target

Today I took a trip to Target today in hopes of picking up some nice cards for my collection. I decided to buy one of those packages that has an autograph and four packs and costs 12 bucks.  Then I also decided to pick up a value pack of this year's NBA Panini Prestige.

So I started to open the 12 dollar autograph package first.  I decided to save the autograph for last and open the four packs first.  The packs included a 2007 Topps, a 2004 Donruss Studio, a 2007 Fleer Ultra and a 2008 Topps Stadium Club.

In all of those packs which added up to 21 cards, I did not receive one Mets card or Red Sox and only two rookie cards.  I was fine with that until I got to my autographed card.
First off, I thought the card looked very nice.  It had a jersey piece, a cut autograph and was numbered to 999.  I really liked the card until I looked at the name on the card, Dave Crouthers.  Crouthers was an Orioles prospect and never made it past Double-A.  His career record in the minors was 30-25 with an ERA of 4.07.  I like to collect minor leaguers but I would never pay twelve dollars for an autograph of a guy who never made in past Double-A and is already out of baseball.  I know there are a bunch of Orioles collectors on here, to all Orioles collectors I'm sure you would like this card more than me, If you would like it just post a comment and we could make a deal.   Needless to say, I probably will never buy this product again.

Here are the two rookie cards:

After that came the value pack of this year's NBA Panini Prestige, I really like the look of the cards and came away with a couple for my PC.  I came away with a nice new Amare, Knicks card as well as some nice retired players, a Jordan Crawford rookie card and a Carl Landry numbered to 499.  I have to say I was much happier with the Panini Value Pack then the 12 dollar autograph package.  Here are the Crawford and Landry cards.
I will be back to my usual TTM postings in the next couple of days.

Sparky Anderson- First Ever ELA Hall of Fame Induction

Hello All!  After a while from the blogosphere I am back.  When the sad news of the death of Sparky Anderson today I decided to induct him into the Everybody Loves Autos Hall of Fame.  The Everybody Loves Autos Hall of Fame will consist of only players I have autographs of.  Each month, I will post a poll with four players' names and you will decide which of those four should be inducted into the Everybody Loves Autos Hall of Fame.  The players in the ELA Hall of Fame do not necessarily have to be in the Hall of Fame of their sport.

Now let's get to the first ever induction, Sparky Anderson.  Sparky Anderson was not much of a player but man was he a hell of a manager.  Anderson would carry his team into three World Series and was a two-time AL manager of the year.  Anderson is sixth all-time in wins as a manager and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2000.  I sent to Anderson earlier this year but he did not sign my card and just sent this index card with his first name signed in pen.

Anderson passed away at the age of 76 today due to problems with dementia.  I wish the Anderson family the best at this difficult time.

A Small Contest

Hello All!  Steven back here.  It has been nearly a month since I have posted due to the fact that my computer stopped working and it took quite a long time to get fixed as well as my scanner not working, which still is not working.

So to all of those who continued to follow even though I had a lack of posts, I decided to make up a small contest.  The winner will receive a 2010 Topps base of Ryan Grant numbered to 2010 as well as ten cards of their favorite team.

Here's how the contest works, the person who comments below and picks what number out of 2010 closest to this particular card will be awarded the card and will also receive the ten cards of their favorite team.  If their happens to be a tie, I will figure out what happens.

The contest will close at 12:00 AM on Thursday of next week, the 11th.

I wish you all the best and really hope to see someone hit the number right on the dot.

TTM Success 10/7/10- Reds Future Star

Once again, I am showcasing my TTM a day late, somehow that always happens.  This card is an autographed 2010 Allen & Ginter rookie card of Reds OF Drew Stubbs.  As you can see, the scanner is still not working but I think I did a solid job at taking the photo but the photo does not do it justice, the auto looks amazing on the A&G.

Stubbs is currently playing in his second season with the Reds but this year is his first full season.  Stubbs played in 42 games last year with 180 at bats where he hit .267 with 17 RBIs and 8 home runs.

Stubbs' power numbers went way up this year in which he hit .255 with 22 home runs and 77 RBIs.  His team is currently down 1-0 but winning today’s game 4-3 in the 7th inning in the NLDS against the Phillies.

I would like to thank Stubbs for taking the time to sign this card for my collection, especially during playoff time.  I hope him and the Reds can pull a win tonight and win the series because man, do I hate the Phillies.

Good Luck Brad!

It's been over a week since I posted, the main reason is because my scanner isn't working right but I decided until it was fixed I would just take the photos myself.  This post is a bit late, I planned to do this on Monday but the scanner problems once again hurt my chances at a post. Well onto the auto, this post is in honor of the man pictured, Brad Ausmus.

Ausmus retired from baseball on Sunday after playing 18 MLB seasons.  Ausmus played for the Padres, Tigers, Astros and this season for the Dodgers. This season he played for the Dodgers but missed most of the season because of injury.  In 71 at bats this season, Ausmus batted .222 with two RBIs.

Brad had a hell of a career being a three-time Gold Glover and was an All-Star in 1999 with the Tigers.  In a bit under 2,000 MLB games, Ausmus batted .251 with 80 home runs and 607 RBIs.  Ausmus finishes his MLB career tenth all-time in fielding percentage at .994.

I wish Brad all the best in his life after baseball and would like to thank him for taking the time earlier this season to sign this card for me.  I personally think we will see Ausmus as a manager/coach in no time.

Topps Gridiron Giveaway

Recently I had a post about the Topps Million Card Giveaway.  Well, today I put in a code in the Topps Gridiron Giveaway and came away with another dandy.  The card above is a 1956 Topps Billy Wilson.

Wilson was a wide receiver for the 49ers from 1951-1960.  Wilson was also a six-time Pro Bowler.  Wilson's career stats include 407 receptions for 5,902 yards with 49 touchdowns.  Sadly, Wilson passed away last year.  RIP Billy.

Man, do I love these giveaways, sometimes the cards you get are junk but in lucky times you can get a nice, old card like this.  I can't wait for next's years Diamond Giveaway.

Brave's Star Rookie Reliever

Yesterday, the man in this photo Braves reliever, Michael Dunn got his second career MLB win.  Dunn has had a breakout season having a mere 1.04 ERA in 22 games.

Prior to being called up to the majors, Dunn went 2-0 with a 1.52 ERA on the Braves Triple-A team, the Gwinnett Braves.  Dunn had spent time on the Yankees last year having a 6.75 ERA in four innings.

Dunn signed this card for me earlier in the year through the mail and I would like to thank him for taking the time to sign a card for my collection.  Dunn is a future MLB star, just look at his stellar rookie season this year.

TTM Success 9/27/10- Pro Bowl TE

As you can see Atlantic League Week has come to an abrupt end because my Somerset Patriots were eliminated from the Atlantic League playoffs but never fear a TTM is here.  This TTM is from none other than Dallas Clark.

Clark has been a member of the Colts since 2003 and has improved each year on the team.  Last year, Clark had an astounding 100 receptions from star QB, Peyton Manning along with 1,106 receiving yards and ten touchdowns.  Clark was named a Pro Bowler and was a First-Team NFL All-Pro.

Clark already has 21 catches on the season with 207 yards and two touchdowns, which shows just how well he already is playing.  I would like to thank Clark for taking the time to sign a card for my collection and I expect him to see him with another Pro Bowl season this year.

Atlantic League Week, Part 2- Former Red Sox Prospect

This is the second post of Atlantic League Week featuring Somerset Patriots IF Iggy Suarez.  This was also the other card I got signed on Friday night. Last night, the Patriots tied the series against the York Revolution and will be playing the decisive game in less than an hour.  After a rough Giants loss today, I hope my Somerset Patriots can get the win.

Suarez had been in the Red Sox organization since 2003 until this year.  Suarez had a career minor league average of .243 with 78 stolen bases and 251 RBIs.  The highest Suarez got in the Red Sox organization was last year when he made it to the Pawtucket Red Sox, the Red Sox Triple-A team.  Suarez had a solid season this year with the Patriots batting .266 with 30 RBIs.  Suarez had been hitless in the playoffs until last night's win.

I would like to thank Suarez for taking the time to sign for me before the game and hope he can help lead the Patriots to a big win today.

Atlantic League Week, Part 1- A Former Met

This is my first post this week because I have been sick all week and just got better yesterday.  I planned on having an Atlantic League Week showcasing all my autos from the Atlantic League due to the fact that the playoffs started this week.  I decided I would still do it but start Atlantic League Week today.  I went to game three of the Freedom Division series between the Somerset Patriots and York Revolution last night and obtained this autograph in person as well as another.  I also saw that a fellow blogger went to game two (Dion's IP Autos).

Bill Pulsipher played for five different teams in his six season MLB career including playing for my, New York Mets.  Pulsipher went 10-13 in his MLB career with an ERA of 5.15.  Pulsipher was at one point supposed to be a savior for the Mets until he had to have Tommy John surgery after his rookie season.  Pulsipher did not make it back in the pros until three years later.

Pulsipher suffered many injuries in his MLB career and I have to think if he didn't he could have had a solid MLB career.  Pulsipher is now a member of the Somerset Patriots where he went 5-1 with an ERA of 3.18.  If he wasn't 36 I bet he would have a chance to make it back in an MLB orginazation.

Pulsipher has given the Patriots there only win in the series so far with the Patriots being down 1-2 in the series with a game tonight.  I hope they can get the next two games and go in to the Atlantic League Championship game.  I would like to thank Pulsipher for taking the time to sign for me before the game last night.

Topps Million Card Giveaway

This is my first post ever that will not include an autographed card.  I was looking through my cards and found one of the Topps Million Card Giveaway inserts and was really psyched.

I typed in the code and ended up getting this 1955 Ted Kazanski.  I could not be happier with this card (well I could because I hate the Phillies) but it is now my oldest card in my collection.  I have many cards from the 60's through now but did not have any prior to 1960.

Kazanski played for the Phillies from 1953-1958 and his career stats include an average of .217 with 14 home runs and 116 RBIs in 417 games.  I plan to get this card shipped to me right away and hope to get many more of these inserts.

The Celtic Warrior/ WWE Champion

Most people do not know I am a wrestling fan probably due to the fact that I have never posted about it but I am a huge wrestling fan.  If you’re a wrestling fan you know that tomorrow is the WWE's Night of Champions PPV so I decided to showcase these autographs today because these are of the current WWE champion, Sheamus.

Sheamus, whose real name is Stephen Farrelly is now one of the top stars in the WWE after having a breakout year last year and is currently in his second reign as the WWE champ, with many more to come. Before coming to the WWE, Farrelly wrestled in Ireland and the WWE's developmental company, Florida Championship Wrestling where he was at one point the FCW Heavyweight Champion.

I am a huge Sheamus fan and this is one of my favorite autographs in my collection and I would like to thank him for signing these cards.

Twin's Star Pitcher

This post is to honor Twins starter, Brian Duensing who increased his number of wins to nine last night.

Duensing is having a real breakout season this year after being moved from the bullpen to the starting rotation.  Last season, he went 5-2 with a 3.64 ERA in 24 games, nine of those being starts.

Duensing was already having quite a good season before being moved to the starting rotation but since being a starter Duensing has looked like a future All-Star.  Duensing is 9-2 on the season with a 2.07 ERA in 50 games, ten of those being starts.

Duensing has had an amazing season and all I see is more good things to come.  Also, I recently received a message about what I have for trade, I'm working on that right now and hopefully will have a post up about that this weekend.

Trade With BA Benny

This is my first post that is not completely about autographs.  I made a trade with BA Benny and wow what a guy!
First are some Red Sox rookies, the Red Sox are my team other than the Mets.  These rookie cards include Dice-K, David Murphy, Kason Gabbard, Kelly Shoppach, Jon Lester, Clay Buchholz and a Hanley Ramirez as a member of Red Sox.  He also sent a couple more rookies as well as some chrome and a whole bunch of base.
These are some of the Giants cards he sent as well as a rookie card of my favorite NFL player Patrick Willis.  The Giants rookies include four Brandon Jacobs cards as well as a Aaron Ross rookie card.
These two cards were the main part of the deal a Curt Schilling game used card as well as an autographed card of former Met Brian Stokes.  The reason I wanted the Stokes auto is because I am trying to start a project to get an auto of every player to play for the Mets since 2006, if that set is completed I will try to get the Mets who played 2000-2005.

Once again thanks to BA Benny for the wonderful trade and I hope you like the cards I sent.

TTM Success 9/9/10- A First-Year Yankee and Former All-Star

Once again I'm posting my TTM a day late.  This is an autographed photo of Yankees outfielder, Curtis Granderson.  Granderson does not sign any cards TTM but sends back the card you sent and this 4x6.

Granderson is currently is his first year with the Yankees after six seasons with the Tigers where he has batted .246 with 17 home runs and 48 RBIs.  He was an All-Star last season and has led the MLB in triples once and the American League twice.

I am a big Granderson fan even though I hate the Yankees and appreciate that he took the time to sign the photo.

Atlantic League All-Star

I decided to post this card today because last night the man featured on this card, Jason Perry of the Lancaster Barnstormers hit his 22nd home run which is second in the Atlantic League.

Perry has been a member of the Blue Jays, A's, Tigers, Rays and Braves organization.  Perry has only played in one MLB season and that was with the Braves in 2008 where he had 17 at bats and batted .118 with an RBI.  Hey, if he never makes it back to the bigs he'll always be able to say he had an RBI in the MLB.

Perry has played in the Atlantic League the past two seasons having an amazing season this year batting .295 with 22 home runs and 72 RBIs.

Perry could be back in an MLB organization next season if he continues his play.  Perry signed this for me earlier this season and could not have been a nicer guy, so I wish him all the best and hope to see him with an MLB team soon.

Flowers Back in the Bigs

This post is in honor of White Sox catcher, Tyler Flowers who played in his first game of the 2010 MLB season today.

Flowers is currently playing in his second MLB season but it is technically his first due to the fact that he only had 16 at bats last season.  Next year, will probably be his first MLB season because I highly doubt that he will get the amount of at bats needed to no longer be a rookie in just a month.

Flowers has been in the top hundred prospects according to Baseball America the past two years, being rated 99th last year and 60th this year.  Prior to September callups, Flowers played for the White Sox Triple-A team, the Charlotte Knights where he batted .220 with 16 home runs and 53 RBIs.

I hope to see Flowers have a great September.

TTM Success 9/3/10- A Former All-Star

This is my last TTM I received in the mail last week.  This card is autographed by Mariners 2B, Chone Figgins.

Figgins is currently in his first year with the Mariners after eight years with the Angels.  He is currently batting .245 with 32 RBIS and 35 stolen bases, which ranks eight in the MLB, seventh in the American League.  Figgins is always near the top in stolen bases and even finished in first in 2005 with 62.

Figgins was an All-Star last year with the Angels and has finished in the top 25 for AL MVP four times being 24th in 2004, 17th in 2005, 20th in 2007 and 10th last year.

If Figgins picks his average up could be an All-Star again and I appreciate that Figgins took the time to sign this awesome Allen & Ginter for my collection.

TTM Success 9/2/10- Sharpley as a Tack

This is a TTM I received on Thursday, I still have one more TTM to post from last week which will be posted tomorrow and it is a dandy.

This card is autographed by Mariners' infield prospect, Even Sharpley.  Sharpley is currently in his second league of professional baseball.  He had quite a good season last year on the Mariners' Arizona League team where he batted .333 with seven home runs and 29 RBIs. His numbers have gone down this season batting .235 with 6 home runs and 42 RBIs, which ranks tied for fifth in the Northwest League.

One thing that is interesting about Sharpley is that he was once Jimmy Clausen's back-up at Notre Dame and even started a few games for the Fighting Irish.

I love when guys personalize autos so that is a plus to this card, also I think if Sharpley gets that average up he could be a star one day and I appreciate that he took time to sign this card for my collection.

TTM Success 9/1/10- Masterson of His Domain

This post is my last TTM I received on Wednesday but I still have two more I received this week which I will be posting tomorrow and Monday.

This card is autographed by Indians starter, Justin Masterson.  Masterson is currently in his second season with the Indians after being traded to the team by the Red Sox.  Masterson isn't having a stellar season this year but what do you expect when you play for the Indians.

Masterson is 5-12 this season with a 5.04 ERA.  Masterson's career stats include 15 wins and 27 losses with a 4.42 ERA.

I am a big Masterson fan due to the fact that he is a former member of the Red Sox and I appreciate that he took the time to sign this card for my collection.

TTM Success 9/1/10- Orioles' Infield Prospect

This autograph was received on Wednesday just like yesterday's post and tomorrow’s post. This card is autographed by Orioles Prospect, Tyler Townsend. With all the Orioles blogs on here I thought this would be an interesting post for those guys.

Townsend is having a hell of a season, Townsend has played on three Orioles minor league teams this season playing quite well in all of them and continuously being moved up in the organization.

Townsend batted .385 in the Gulf Coast League to start off the season. Townsend was then moved to the Orioles' A team, the Delmarva Shorebirds where he hit .342 with 26 RBIs. Townsend is currently playing for the teams A Advanced team, the Frederick Keys where he has batted .255 with three homers and 9 RBIS and was named last week's Carolina League Player of the Week.

Townsend has a chance at being a star someday in Baltimore if he continues to play the way he has this season as he goes up the ranks of the organization and I appreciate that he took the time to sign this card for my collection.

TTM Success 9/1/10- Red Sox's Infield Prospect

I decided I would stop showcasing my golf autos for a bit because I have received many autos in the mail today and yesterday.

This post is a TTM I received yesterday of Red Sox's prospect, Jason Thompson.  My previous post was a Yankees prospect so I thought that was kind of ironic.

What many don't know is that other than the Mets I am a fan of the Red Sox.  The reason is because the Yanks and Red Sox have the best rivalry and all of sports and like most people I hate the Yankees.

Thompson is currently on the Red Sox's Gulf Coast League team, the GCL Red Sox. In what is Thompson's first full professional baseball season (he played in one game last season with no at bats) he hasn't played his best hitting .227 with five homers and 23 RBIs.  Though he has not hit his best he has looked great on the bases with ten stolen bases.

I hope to see Thompson hit his stride at the plate next season and appreciate that he took the time to sign this for my collection.

TTM Success 8/27/10- Yankees' Outfield Prospect

Today I decided to step away form showcasing my Barclays autographs and showcase a TTM I received in the mail the same day I attended The Barclays.

This card is autographed by Yankees prospect, Damon Sublett.  Sublett is currently playing for the Yankees Double-A team, the Trenton Thunder.

Sublett is currently having kind of a rough season for the Thunder batting .198 with two homers and 12 RBIs in 96 at bats.  Before this season, Sublett had three solid seasons in the minors.

I expect to see Sublett back with the Thunder next season but hope to see him show his stuff rather than play like he did this season and I greatly appreciate that he took time to sign this card.

The Barclays Autos Part 2

This is my second post from my trip to The Barclays.  It was a great time and most of the guys could not have been nicer.

The ticket is autographed by Kevin Streelman while the balls are autographed by Brian Davis(left) and David Duval(right).

Streelman finished the event tied for third.  Streelman currently ranks 18th in the Fed Ex Cup rankings. Streelman was a great guy when he signed for me.  I had the ticket signed because I ran out of items but Streelman had a -8 day that day so the ticket was an awesome item to get signed.

Davis currently ranks 49th in the Fed Ex Cup rankings.  Davis has been on the PGA Tour since 1998 and his best showing in a major was at the 2003 Open Championship where he finished tied for sixth.

The Barclays will most likely be Duval's last event of the season because he did not finish in the top hundred in the Fed Ex Cup rankings.  Duval was once one of the best players on tour but in recent years has stumbled. Davis was the PGA Tour money leader in 1998 and won The Open Championship in 2001.

The Barclays Autos Part 1

I haven't posted a lot lately but I will be posting a lot more in the future. Recently I have received a few autos in the mail and got many at The Barclays, the first tournament of the PGA Tour Playoffs.

This is the first post of my Barclays autographs.  I had brought five or six items to get signed because you could only bring what you could fit in your pocket.  Later, I would have to buy more items in the gift shop because I ran out of items to get signed.

The ball on the left is autographed by J.B. Holmes while the ball on the right is autographed by Y.E. Yang.

J.B. Holmes is currently in the top 30 in points in the Fed Ex Cup playoffs.  Holmes is a two-time winner of the FBR Open and was a member of the United States Ryder Cup team in 2008.

Y.E. Yang is best known in golf for his win at the PGA Championship over Tiger Woods last year. Yang also won the Honda Classic last year.

TTM Success 8/23/10- The Future of Pirates Pitching

This is my first TTM I received this week and somehow I always seem to be posting my TTMs a day late.

This card is autographed by Pirates pitching prospect, Zack Von Rosenberg. Von Rosenberg helped his high school team win four straight state championships.  Von Rosenberg was expected to be drafted higher but due to a strong commitment to LSU, he slipped to the sixth round.

Von Rosenberg is currently in his second season in professional baseball after having a perfect inning last season in the rookie league.  He is now with the State College Spikes, the Pirates A- team.  Von Rosenberg currently has a great ERA of 3.20 but he has hardly received any run support due to that he is 1-6.

Though the Pirates have been a subpar baseball team for awhile I believe he can help the team when he makes it to the bigs and I greatly appreciate that he took the time to sign this card for my collection.

TTM Success 8/20/10- Thigpen Battling for Backup Spot

This is my third TTM I received this week, which I actually received this in the mail yesterday.  This TTM is of Dolphins QB, Tyler Thigpen.

Thigpen started his career off with the Vikings by being picked up in the seventh round of the 2007 NFL Draft.  Thigpen was released on September, 1 of that year and signed with the Chiefs the day after.  Thigpen would play three years for the Chiefs and started in 11 games in 2008 for the team.  In 2009, Thigpen was traded to the Dolphins for an undisclosed draft pick.

Thigpen is currently battling Chad Pennington for the Dolphins backup spot behind Chad Henne.  Thigpen's career stats include 19 touchdowns, 15 interceptions with 2,732 passing yards and a QB rating of 73.8.  I think Thigpen could greatly help any franchise at QB and hope he gets the number two spot behind Henne. I greatly appreciate Tyler taking time to sign this card for my collection.

TTM Success 8/19/10- Butera Next In Line After Mauer

This is my second TTM I received this week. I actually received this in the mail yesterday and received a different TTM today that I will showcase later this weekend. This TTM is a rookie card from this years' Topps set signed by Twins backup catcher, Drew Butera.

Drew is currently in his rookie season as a member of the Twins. Drew made his debut on April, 9 of this year against the White Sox but would not get his first MLB hit until April, 22 against the Indians. Drew hit his first career home run almost a month later on June, 19 against the Phillies.

I am a huge fan of Drew due to the fact that he is a former prospect with my, New York Mets. Drew was traded to the Twins in the Johan Santana trade. Drew is currently bating .210 this season with two dingers and ten RBIs.  I think Drew can be a star someday if he is with the Twins behind Mauer or with another team and appreciate that he took the time to sign this card for my collection.

Bruschi Not a Fan of Vikings Plea for Favre

The reason I decided to showcase this TTM today is because Tedy Bruschi was one of the few of the members of the ESPN team to be against some Vikings players going to his house to try and get him to come back to the team, Bruschi said he had lost all the respect he had for the Vikings and also said that this saga would have never happened in New England because Belichick knows how to handle it.

This TTM was received less than a week ago.  Bruschi was a member of the Patriots for his whole career which would last from 1996-2008.  Bruschi is a former Pro Bowler and was a winner of the NFL's Comeback Player of the Year, Bruschi suffered a mild stroke and sat out the some of the previous season, the season after he would play like he never left.  In Bruschi's NFL career he had 735 tackles, 30.5 sacks and 12 interceptions.

I think we all agree with what Bruschi said about the Vikings and Favre but maybe not about the Patriots.  I think Bruschi is quite an inspiring man and appreciate that he took time to sign this card for my collection.

Chase Your Dream

This is my third post in honor of the first game at New Meadowlands Stadium, the new home of the New York Giants.  Last night, the Giants played a great game and clinched the first NFL win ever in the history of the stadium with a 31-16 win over the New York Jets, who still share the same home stadium as the Giants.

This autograph I obtained in person the same day I obtained Kehl and Canty.  This autograph is of Giants LB Chase Blackburn. I got Chase to sign his picture in the yearbook on his way to the meeting after practice the same way I obtained Canty.

Blackburn has been with the Giants since 2005 and has started in 17 of his 79 NFL games.  In Blackburn's NFL career he has 190 tackles, 1.5 sacks and two interceptions.

Blackburn had one tackle in last night's game versus the Jets.

TTM Success 8/16/10- Drew To His Heart

As I said in my first post here, I get at least one TTM a week.  This may be my only one for the week but I certainly hope it is not.

I think this autograph I received today is quite cool due to the fact that it is of Drew Henson, a two-sport athlete.

Henson was a starting QB at Michigan in the fall while he played minor league baseball for the Yankees organization in the Summer.

Henson made it to the big leagues with the Yanks in 2002 and 2003 before retiring from baseball and going back to football.

Henson was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the 2004 NFL Draft in the third round.  Henson would play for three NFL teams in his football career.

Henson is now retired from professional sports.  Henson's MLB baseball stats include one hit and three runs scored.  Henson's NFL stats include 1 touchdown, 1 interception, 98 passing yards with a QB rating of 64.2.

Thank you for signing the card, Drew!

Canty You Dig It?

This is my second post in honor of the first game at New Meadowlands Stadium tonight between the Giants and Jets that will occur in less than an hour.

This autograph I obtained in person the same day I obtained the Kehl, it is autographed by Giants DT Chris Canty.  I got Canty to sign this cover of an issue of last year's Sporting News NFL Preview.  I asked him to sign this on his way to a meeting after practice.

Canty is entering his second year on the Giants after playing 4 seasons with the Cowboys.   Canty started in every game for the Cowboys in 2006, 2007 and 2008 until he signed with the Giants.  Last year, Canty had an injury-plagued season playing in only eight games with four starts.  Canty has had 161 tackles and 10.5 sacks so far in his NFL career.

I would love to get this item signed by the other men in the photo- Justin Tuck, Mathias Kiwanuka, Barry Cofield, Rocky Bernard, Jay Alford, Dave Tollefson (cut off in photo) and Fred Robbins who is no longer a Giant.  If I could get everyone expect Robbins that would make a great addition to my autograph collection.

Kehl As Ice

This post as well as others in the next coming days is in honor of the first game at New Meadowlands Stadium that will be played between the Giants and Jets tomorrow.

This is an autograph I obtained in person of Giants LB Bryan Kehl. I am a huge Giants fan and take a drive down to Albany every year to go to training camp and this is where I received it. I actually got this one just a few days ago on August,12 when I went to camp.

Kehl, probably the best signer on the Giants signed for everyone around the fence area in hopes of an autograph. There were probably around 500 people looking for autographs and Kehl signed for each and every one of them. Kehl was one of the few who signed after practice.

Kehl has been with the Giants for the past two years, this being his third as a Giant. Kehl has only started in 3 NFL games but could have a chance this season of getting a starting job. In Kehl's two NFL seasons he has 57 tackles, one sack and one interception.

The card Kehl signed is his rookie card from the 2008 NFL Bowman set. The best thing about the card is that the card is numbered 384/500.

This is the only signed item I got after practice and the only signed card I got on the day. I have a few other items I got signed that will be showcased in the next few days.

Hello All!

Hello All! My name is Steven and I am a long-time autograph collector.  I will be posting autographs I have in my collection that I am a big fan of.  I am an avid TTM collector and at least get one in the mail every week.  Whenever I get one in I will be posting it here.  I personally like to collect on card autographs that I have obtained in-person or through the mail.  I used to collect certified autos and still do when it is a player I don't have an autograph of.  I am a huge Mets, Giants and Nets fan and love to collect autographs of those teams.  I obtain many autos at Atlantic League games where some former major leaguers play as well as at Giants training camp and Mets and Nets games.  I hope you all enjoy my blog and thank all who will eventually read my blog.
